Electrostatic Powder Paint

Electrostatic powder paint is an advanced method to cover the surface of metals in a protective and decorative way. In the structure of powder coatings, solid resins are used that have the feature of induction and getting electrical charge. In addition to pigments, additives and fillers, all these materials are mixed, extruded and ground during the production process. In the method of painting powder paints, first micronized powder is poured into the spray gun and this powder is charged under high voltage (positive charge) and then after passing through the gun tube it is sprayed by wind pressure and the piece with a negative charge (earth connection), it absorbs the powder that has positive charge. The powder uniformly covers the entire surface of the part with any size and angles. And after being placed in a furnace due to the heat of the melted powder particles and after creating stickiness and transverse band, it provides a hard, durable and insoluble coating. Powder coating is the fastest technology that exists in the whole world and is used in metal industries.

What are the advantages of powder coating?

1- Better result

The first reason for preferring powder to liquid paint is its better output. A product that has a powder coating will not have any problems such as dripping and drifting of paint, and the painting of the product will be completely uniform, an advantage that liquid paints lack, especially when we want the paint surface to be thicker. By using powder paints, we can have a high thickness of paint without the effect of color fading.

2- Saving money and time

The equipment used in painting powder colors are such that those parts of powder colors that are not attached to the surface can be reused.

Therefore, in the powder paint system, the loss of paint is very small. In powder painting, there is no need to perform measures such as undercoating and multiple painting, but with one spray of paint, the desired thickness is achieved and the piece enters the furnace, so using less paint and also, the use of less manpower has the desired result and saves time, increases production speed and reduces energy consumption.

3- More durability and resistance

Powder coatings have better resistance to corrosion and environmental effects and chemicals. Also, strokes and scratches will have a much lesser effect on the product painted with electrostatic method. The paint falling off is one of the problems of the product painted with liquid paint. It also does not lose its color.

4- No harmful environmental effects and a higher safety factor

Powder paints are completely solid and do not contain solvents. Solvents in liquid paints are volatile and vaporize during use, and the vapor can cause respiratory problems and poisoning caused by inhalation of toxic vapors. This problem is ruled out due to the absence of solvent and volatile organic compounds in paint powder, and if a mask is used, the possibility of powder entering the eye is minimized. Also, this characteristic of powder paints significantly reduces the possibility of fire. In the process of production and consumption of powder colors, there are no flammable substances.

5– Creating diversity in appearance

In fact, one of the advantages of powder colors is the high variety that can cover all kinds of tastes. Liquid colors are much more limited in comparison.
